The Great Pyramid - Scion and Drawbridge Rooms (Revisited)

Tomb Raider I Remastered screenshot
After navigating the boulder-trapped tunnels and dropping down into the SCION ROOM, as shown in the previous section, shoot the SCION (2), which for some reason counts as an official kill. This opens the door opposite the pedestal and sets off a series of tremors. The quake won't actually injure Lara unless it breaks your concentration and she falls or something. Just keep going. (There's also a save crystal in NG+.)

Exit through the the door that just opened. This leads back to the TIMED DRAWBRIDGE room from the previous level, but now the bridge is locked in place. If you don't care about getting all kills, step off the drawbridge to land on the black rocks below on the right. Find the opening in the floor near the south wall and safety drop onto a small, square ledge in the lava pool below. Skip to the next section, GAUNTLET OF TRAPS.

If you do want all kills, there are 2 mutants (2-3) on the walkways to the left and right, and a third mutant (4) in the fleshy hallway on the other side of the bridge.

Step out onto the bridge to activate the first two, then back up...

...and kill them from the relative safety of the doorway.

They shouldn't try to cross the bridge, but if either starts shooting darts or fireballs, sidestep out of the doorway for cover.

Then step back out and continue firing until both mutants explode.

Now cross the bridge. Step onto the tan walkway to trigger the , which charges around the corner.

Start firing as you backflip away twice...

...then hop back into the doorway to the SCION ROOM. Again, the mutant should not follow Lara across the bridge, and you can use the doorway for cover if it starts shooting or throwing fireballs. Then just keep shooting until it explodes.

NOTE: The passageway where the third mutant spawned now comes to a dead-end a bit farther along. There's also a dead-end passage near the switch that used to open the door to the Scion room, but there's nothing inside. Also, it is possible to jump down onto the platform where you fought the big mutant earlier, then retrace your steps through the passageways and tunnels. Other than adventure tourism, there's no actual purpose in doing so, since it only brings you back to the SCION ROOM.
